Cairo: Grand Mufti of India, Sheikh Abubakr Ahmad reached Cairo, Egypt to represent India at the International Fatwa Conference. The conference, organized by Egypt's General Secretariate for Fatwa Authorities Worldwide, which oversees fatwa centres across various countries, will occur on the 29th and 30th of this month at the Almaza Hotel in Cairo. The event is held under the patronage of Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Sisi.
The general theme of the conference is Fatwa and the ethical foundation in an accelerating world which focuses on the relevance of Fatwas and ethical foundations in an ever-evolving world. It will include various sessions covering topics such as the role of fatwas in empowering and upholding human morals and values, the strengthening of international and regional organizations, the importance of fatwas in promoting equality and brotherhood among people, and the protection of human rights. Additionally, discussions will address the pluralism of nations and the use of fatwas to foster interfaith dialogue among different religions.
Sheikh Abubakr Ahmad will deliver his presentation on the second day of the conference at 1:30 PM, during a session chaired by His Eminence Sheikh Mahmoud Sheikh Hassan Farah, Chairman of the Supreme Council of the Sunni Scholars of Egypt. The conference will feature more than fifty scholars and leaders from various countries presenting papers on a wide range of topics across four sessions.
