New Delhi: In a recent statement, the Grand Mufti of India, Sheikh Abubakr Ahmad, emphasized the importance of maintaining national unity beyond the electoral process. He urged leaders in administrative and political roles to exercise maturity in their rhetoric, cautioning against the divisive impact of communal statements on the nation's fabric.
The Grand Mufti stressed against the use of sectarianism as a political tool, stressing that such tactics not only undermine the dignity of constitutional values but also exacerbate societal wounds. He mainly quoted the Prime Minister's recent remarks, urging him to rectify any statements that may have caused distress within the Muslim community.
Furthermore, the Grand Mufti condemned the politicization of India's Muslim minority, labelling it as a detrimental move that undermines the country's cohesion.
