Kozhikode: The Grand Mufti of India, Sheikh Abubakr Ahmad, who is also the General Secretary of Samasta Kerala Jamiatul Ulema and State President of Kerala Muslim Jamaat, has announced his active participation in the rehabilitation efforts for the victims of the recent disaster in the Wayanad Mundakai and Churalmala areas. The Kerala Muslim Jamaat, under his leadership, will collaborate with government systems to provide essential facilities, including housing, to those affected.
In a communication with the Chief Minister of Kerala, Shri Pinarayi Vijayan, Sheikh Abubakr Ahmad expressed his appreciation and support for the ongoing rescue operations. The organizations under his supervision, through their extensive network, have already initiated the first phase of assistance under Markaz, an Islamic educational institution led by Sheikh Abubakr Ahmad. Santhvanam Volunteers, a rescue and emergency team under his organization SYS, are currently engaged in relief efforts across disaster-hit areas, including Chaliyar banks, hospitals, and relief camps in Nilambur and Meppadi.
Sheikh Abubakr Ahmad assured the Chief Minister that the Kerala Muslim Jama'at would continue to provide robust support to government initiatives aimed at the long-term rehabilitation of the affected regions.
